At Crann Grá, we do not believe in forcing plants in heated greenhouses with artificial fertilizers. We believe a resilient garden starts with plants raised naturally.
County Leitrim is famous for its gorgeous drumlin landscape, lakes, and its famously wet clay soils. All of our plants are grown in unheated polytunnels or out in the elements. This means they experience our local rain, frost, and winds. When you bring a plant home from Crann Grá, it won’t suffer from shock. It’s already hardened off and ready to establish deep, healthy root systems in real Irish garden conditions.

Welcome to Crann Grá! We started this nursery on our small hobby farm, Bumble Cottage. As local growers in Leitrim, we know firsthand the unique joys and struggles of gardening in heavy North West clay. We wanted to grow the kinds of plants we struggled to find: sustainably propagated, peat-free, chemical-free, and tough enough to handle our winters.
Every single plant is hand-potted, hand-divided, and watered with collected rainwater. We use organic seaweed feeds from the West Coast to nourish our soil and work in harmony with Leitrim’s rich wildlife. If you message or call us, we are always ready to talk plants and offer gardening advice!

We are a 100% peat-free nursery. We use compost mixes made from wood fiber, bark, and coir to protect Ireland’s boglands. We collect rainwater for all irrigation, use biodegradable and recycled pots, and feed our plants purely with organic cold-processed seaweed extracts. We never use chemical insecticides, ensuring our plants are safe for the bees in your garden.
Many commercially sold plants are imported from warmer European climates or forced in heated greenhouses with synthetic growth regulators. When planted out in damp Leitrim clay, they can struggle and fail. Our plants are grown in unheated polytunnels or outdoors, meaning they are already accustomed to our wind, rainfall, and winter cold, ensuring a much higher survival rate.
Yes! We offer free delivery in County Leitrim on all orders over €50. For smaller orders or orders in neighboring counties (Sligo, Roscommon, Longford), we charge a small delivery fee or you can choose to click-and-collect directly from the nursery at Bumble Cottage.
Yes, absolutely! We love pot circularity. If you buy plants from us, you can return your empty plastic pots next time you visit or when we deliver. We wash, sanitize, and reuse them for next season’s propagation.
